Other medical conditions can be exacerbated by prolonged heat, particularly for the very young and the very old.   • Hydration: It can be hard during the warmer months to keep up with the body’s needs. Ordinarily, people should be drinking between four and six glasses of water a day. However, the additional heat typically means that people will need to drink more water both to cool down and to replenish water lost through sweating. Overexposure to the sun’s UV rays is known to cause skin cancer. It’s best to use a broad spectrum SPF 30 product, or higher SPF if you can find it. This will protect your skin from multiple varieties of UV radiation for longer. It’s a good idea to invest in lip balm with an SPF factor too, especially if you intend to go swimming or to the beach. Both of these activities can dry out your lips and make them more susceptible to sun damage.

Ways to Prevent Sun Damage

Green tea, either drank or applied to the skin directly, offers multiple skin benefits, making your skin clearer and reducing inflammation. Glycolic acid is another highly useful product for clear skin. It is commonly used in chemical exfoliation, as a gentle product capable of clearing clogged pores of dead skin cells, reversing sun damage and reducing discoloration from hyperpigmentation or inflammation. Lastly, electrolysis can be an effective treatment. Removal of hair on the face or back can also reduce the sebum output that makes your skin oily and prone to acne breakouts.
